Prabowo Wants to Plant Land Damaged Cassava to Corn
Candidate for Presidential Number 02 Prabowo Subianto wants optimized use of damaged land. This will be done by planting food crops.
Empowerment will continue to be carried out on damaged land. This was done to reduce food imports.
"So we plant food like cassava, now we import from Thailand. We can produce cassava from damaged forests," explained the Prabowo-Sandi Hashim Djojohadikusumo Success Team, South Jakarta, Thursday.
The crop that was proven successful was sorghum. He believes that Indonesia can replace all imports with its own domestic production.
"Sorghum already has evidence of success, all of this we empower. I think in the not too distant future we can replace all imports," he explained.
It will plant frequently imported food commodities such as corn and cassava. Because, currently the government is considered to prefer imports to meet food needs.
"Then corn, we don't need to import corn anymore, we don't need to import cassava anymore. Indonesia is now addicted to imports of almost all of the ingredients we import," he said.
He added, Prabowo would stop the import tap and start empowering damaged forests to become a planting area.
"We want to change that, Prabowo will stop the commodities produced by our forests," he concluded.
