Sandiaga Uno Promises Stop Import, In Front of Kediri Farmers

Liputan Net. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno admitted that he was very sad to hear about the sugar cane farmer named Bambang while having a dialogue and meeting with representatives of villages in Kediri Regency and sugar cane farmers at the Lanny Restaurant on Sukarno Hatta Street, Kediri, East Java, Thursday.

Bambang complained about the falling selling price due to sugar imports. "We feel like sugar cane farmers want to cry, but yes these tears are dry. Prices are falling. Again, how come the rice can be imported from other countries? Do you want to kill farmers," said Bambang.

The same complaint came from Maruf. He told me that his tomato harvest failed and made some farmers more miserable.
"Selling tomatoes makes me hurt. 70 kilograms is only valued at Rp. 7,000. I hope that being a vice president will improve the economic fate of the farmers. It needs the lowest retail price, so we don't lose, sir," said Maruf.

After venturing out, Sandiaga hugged Maruf. "Patience, Mr. Maruf," he said, patting the middle-aged man. The sugar cane problem Sandi claimed to have signed a political contract with sugar cane farmers in Lumajang. There are seven requests from farmers that must be resolved if they are given the mandate to be servants of the Indonesian people.

"I read again the seven-point contract requested by sugar cane farmers to be addressed. Stop imports, eradicate food mafia, fertilizer subsidies, agricultural equipment, revitalize red-plate sugar factories, provide soft and light credit to sugarcane farmers, remove the monopoly on sugar sales and "I am improving the sugar trading system. I have signed it, God willing, I will fulfill it if the mandate is given to Mr. Prabowo and me," explained Sandi.

To Maruf, Sandi promised to implement the program as he had done at DKI with a Food Station. Buy directly from farmers to simplify distribution and be transparent. So that farmers and breeders can improve their welfare.

"I will apply the same method only to the level that we raise nationally. Like when we initiated the purchase of eggs from Blitar to maintain supply so that the price of eggs in DKI Jakarta at that time continued to be stable and affordable. Direct purchases were made by PT Tjipinang Food Station. "There are 260 tons of eggs per day, 100 tons of eggs from Blitar," said Sandi.
